- Responsible to provide support for School Dept. technology users for both hardware and software issues.

- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Answers and evaluates incoming requests for assistance from users experiencing technology-related problems.
- Provides support for district technology users – for both hardware and software issues via email, phone, and in the field.
- Provides problem resolution, or makes referrals to supervisor.
- Installs and configures hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
- Assembles and replicates workstations for dissemination in different schools.
- Assists with software and hardware testing and evaluation.
- Logs and tracks requests for assistance in help desk database.
- Keeps accurate inventories and records.
- Functions as a member of the MIS team.
- Assists in the development of project plans and adheres to project timelines.
- Writes technology tips, procedures, and manuals for end-users.
- Provides training for technology users.
- Adheres to best practices for developing and communicating standards.
- Maintains confidentiality.
- Performs data entry.
- Assembles and replicates workstations for dissemination in different schools.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
A Certification preferred. Graduation from an accredited two-year college or technical school preferred. Experience may be substituted for education. Working knowledge of MS Office software and current versions of the Windows operating systems. Working knowledge of Macintosh operating systems and programs. PowerSchool, FirstClass and NWEA testing experience preferred.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to operate a computer and related software. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing and the ability to interact positively with schools and community. Ability to handle a multitude of responsibilities with minimal supervision. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and School Committee policies.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
