Job Summary And Qualifications

Maintains patient record and documentation according to policy. Uses Meditech software proficiently.

• Demonstrates the knowledge and skill to provide nursing care to the psychiatric patient under the direction of the RN. Works as a member of a team to assist with milieu management and performs job tasks to ensure personal, patient and departmental safety (rounds/safety searches).
• Communicates professionally and effectively with staff, physicians, management, external and internal customers. Ensures timely and accurate communication of patient information with all members of the treatment team.
• Leads or Co-Leads educational and diversionary groups for adolescents, adults, and substance abuse patients. Documents group progress notes for each patient each group.
• Adheres to all applicable policies and procedures. Supports the Mission of the Hospital
• Assists Charge Nurses and Shift Supervisor in maintaining efficiency.
• Follows established confidentiality policies (written, verbal, electronic and digital).
• Pursues and takes responsibility to enhance personal and professional growth.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

What qualifications you will need:

Licensure / Credentials:

Required:

• BLS Certification within 30 days
• CPI must be obtained within 60 days of employment
  
  

Preferred:

• Certified Nursing Assistant
• Emergency Medical Technician
  
  

Experience:

Required: Able to work under pressure and maintain composure and pleasant manner. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills necessary. Demonstrated typing and word processing skills, experience with telephone systems, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred: Previous experience in hospital/medical setting. Experience with psychiatric patients.
