Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Certified Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a critical role in protecting patient safety and supporting life-saving care through precision and attention to detail. In this rewarding role, you will be a vital part of our team – helping surgical staff deliver safe, effective care by ensuring every instrument and supply is clean, prepared, and ready when it is needed most.

SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*

• 1 The CSS Technician is responsible for receiving, cleaning, processing, assembly and distribution of medical supplies, equipment and surgical instruments.
• 2 The CSS Technician is responsible for acquiring, distributing and charging for all disposable supplies and patient rental equipment.
• 3 Prepares, assembles and packages all medical equipment and instruments for surgery and other hospital departments including the restocking of code carts and isolation carts using the exchange cart system.
• 4 Sterilizes all reusable equipment, supplies and instrumentation, and maintains and operates Central Sterile equipment.
• 5 Handles, transports and stores sterile equipment, instruments and supplies and pulls supplies and instruments for surgical cases using the case cart system.
  
  

6 Helps direct the work flow in Central Sterile Supply, setting priorities and meeting deadlines for the

department.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE

Required – Previous Experience As a CSS Technician.

EDUCATION

Required – High School or equivalency.

CERTIFICATION

Required - Certified Sterile Processing Technician or Certified Regional Central Service Technician and maintain certification throughout employment.
