We are a busy dermatology office and are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical procedures, patient care, and medical administrative support, with experience across various specialties including dermatology and plastic surgery. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where patient service excellence and clinical expertise are paramount. The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in supporting healthcare providers by ensuring smooth clinic operations and delivering compassionate patient care. Hours are Monday thru Friday with some early evening hours possible. No weekends or holidays.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately.
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to support diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout their visit.
- Assisting with minor surgical or dermatological procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Manage medical supplies inventory, sterilize equipment, and ensure the cleanliness of clinical areas in compliance with safety standards.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, scheduling follow-up appointments, and facilitating efficient clinic flow.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient or inpatient settings; experience in dermatology or plastic surgery is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration protocols.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is required
- Familiarity with EHR systems for accurate recordkeeping.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in fast-paced environments.
