Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive wrestling program that emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Plan and conduct daily practices, ensuring a safe and productive training environment.
- Organize and oversee all aspects of the junior high girls wrestling season, including scheduling practices, meets, and tournaments.
- Collaborate with school administration, athletic department, and parents to promote the wrestling program and encourage student participation.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance and progress of athletes, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Ensure compliance with all school, district, and state athletic regulations and safety protocols.
- Foster a positive team culture that encourages inclusivity, respect, and personal growth.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, performance, and any incidents that occur during practices or competitions.
- Serve as a role model for student-athletes, demonstrating leadership, integrity, and a strong work ethic.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Previous coaching experience, preferably in wrestling or a related sport, is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of wrestling techniques, rules, and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with student-athletes, parents, and staff.
- Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes to achieve their personal best.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends during the wrestling season.
