Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach

Job Summary
Lewisburg Area High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our coaching staff as a Varsity Assistant Baseball Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of the game, a commitment to player development, and the ability to foster a positive team environment. This seasonal position plays a crucial role in supporting the head coach and enhancing the overall performance of the varsity baseball team.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily practices, ensuring that drills and training sessions are effective and age-appropriate.
• Help develop game strategies and prepare the team for competition, including scouting opponents and analyzing game footage.
• Provide instruction and feedback to players on skill development, including batting, pitching, fielding, and base running.
• Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect.
• Assist in the organization and management of team events, including games, tournaments, and fundraising activities.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and player progress.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes during practices and games.
• Support the head coach in maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and policies set forth by the school and athletic association.
• Attend staff meetings, coaching clinics, and professional development opportunities as required.

Requirements

• Previous coaching experience at the high school level or higher, preferably in baseball.
• Strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with players, parents, and staff.
• Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to reach their full potential.
• A commitment to promoting a positive and respectful team environment.
