We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to the animals in our facility. This position requires a strong passion for animal welfare and the ability to handle various tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising
- Clean and maintain kennels, cages, and animal living areas
- Assist with animal restraint during examinations and procedures
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinary team
- Monitor animal behavior and report any changes or concerns to the veterinary team
- Assist with laboratory procedures, including sample collection and processing
- Maintain accurate records of animal care and treatment
- Assist with pet grooming services as needed
Skills:
- Knowledge of animal care and handling techniques
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and procedures
- Experience with animal restraint and catheterization
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
