Mt. Our shop and fabrication facilities support field operations by ensuring equipment, parts, and materials are prepared, organized, and ready for deployment.
We are seeking a Parts Specialist to support our heavy equipment shop operations by managing parts procurement, inventory control, and supplier relationships.
Responsibilities
Position Summary
The Parts Specialist is responsible for sourcing, ordering, and assuring that parts, supplies, and materials needed to maintain and repair heavy equipment used in soil stabilization operations in a timely matter. This role works closely with shop and field mechanics, vendors, and the Equipment field support team to ensure timely and accurate procurement while maintaining proper inventory levels.
Key Responsibilities
Purchasing & Sourcing
- Receive and process requests for parts, supplies, and materials from shop and field mechanics
- Source and identify reliable suppliers to support shop and field operations
- Place orders for parts and materials in a timely manner to prevent equipment downtime
- Interact with suppliers on a daily basis to ensure accurate and efficient purchasing
Order Tracking & Vendor Coordination
- Track the status of all orders and follow up on delivery or delays
- Review deliveries against purchase orders to ensure accuracy
- Resolve issues with non-delivered, under-delivered, over-delivered, or damaged goods
- Maintain strong communication with vendors to ensure reliability and performance
Documentation & Reporting
- Ensure all invoices are submitted to accounting for processing and payment
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, reports, and documentation
- Assist in generating reports related to inventory, purchasing activity, and vendor performance
Collaboration & Support
- Work collaboratively with other clerks, mechanics, and operations staff
- Support general shop operations and assist with additional tasks as needed
- Report directly to the Equipment Maintenance Manager
Qualifications
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in purchasing, inventory control, or parts coordination preferred (heavy equipment or construction industry a plus)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, mechanics, and team members
- Proficiency in basic computer systems and inventory tracking software
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and handle parts and materials as needed
- Ability to walk, bend, and perform general shop-related tasks
- Ability to work in a shop environment with exposure to equipment and materials
Work Environment
This position operates primarily within a heavy equipment shop environment with regular interaction with field personnel and vendors. The Parts Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring equipment readiness by maintaining proper inventory levels and ensuring timely procurement of parts and materials to support ongoing operations.
