Responsibilities
- Representing insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and self-insured businesses in workers' compensation cases.
- Advising clients on compensability and developing case strategies.
- Conducting legal research and drafting pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Interviewing witnesses and conducting depositions.
- Attending hearings before the North Carolina Industrial Commission.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree required.
- Licensed to practice law in North Carolina.
- 2-5 years of experience in workers' compensation defense a plus.
- Excellent research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload.
