What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Legal Assistant position at Lewis Rice LLC?
Lewis Rice LLC, a large downtown St. Louis law firm, has an opening for a Litigation Legal Assistant working on our litigation assistant team. This position will work with other team members in supporting litigation attorneys in the Firm. Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, time entry and document management systems is required. A typing speed of 70 wpm, transcription, and a minimum of two years legal secretarial experience is also required. Qualified candidates will be detail-oriented, possess excellent communication skills, possess excellent grammar and proofreading skills and have strong organizational/filing skills. In addition, successful candidates must be a dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment.
The hours of the position are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The position offers an excellent salary commensurate with experience and an excellent comprehensive benefits package including major medical plans, 401(k) plan, and paid parking.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, some college-level courses preferred
- More than two years of professional law firm office or related experience required
- Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
- Ability to type 70WPM or better
- Knowledge of basic spelling, grammar and punctuation rules
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Computer Programs (particularly Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel) and the Internet
- Organizational, time management and prioritization skills required
- Knowledge of general office procedures required; knowledge of law firm office procedures preferred
