Shuttle Driver Field Walker: Drive a van or bus over the road to transport farm workers on a planned or scheduled basis as directed by the employer or supervisor. Driver may pick up workers from different housing sites or pick up points and take them to assigned work site, transit between work sites, and return workers back to the housing site or pick up point at the end of the work day. Make trips to grocery stores, laundromat, airport, and governmental agencies, medical and dental offices, and so forth. Direct and monitor the work of casual and seasonal help during planting and harvesting. Must abide by precise instructions and strict but necessary safety rules and policies. Inspect vehicles and check gas, oil, and water levels prior to departure. Maintain cleanliness of bus. Handle passenger emergencies or disruptions. Make minor repairs to vehicle and change tires. Employer assures that driver will be paid the offered wage rate for actual driving time, including but not limited to trips to fuel vehicle and time spent maintaining the vehicle.
