Position Overview: We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Cashier. The Cashier will be responsible for accurately processing transactions, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers as they enter the store and assist them with any inquiries or concerns.
- Scan items, ensure pricing is accurate, and process transactions efficiently.
- Accept payments in cash, credit, or other forms according to company policies.
- Bag merchandise and provide customers with receipts.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including cleaning conveyor belts and counters.
- Handle returns and exchanges in a courteous and professional manner.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
- Uphold company policies and procedures regarding cash handling and customer interactions.
- Assist with inventory management tasks as needed.
- The cashier is responsible for answering the phones and routing calls accordingly.
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service environment is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and multitask effectively.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling.
- Basic math skills and the ability to operate a cash register or POS system.
