Summary
This is a part-time contract role for a Litigation Paralegal in a New York City law firm. We are a small, fast-moving IP litigation firm in Dumbo, Brooklyn seeking a paralegal to support our team of 10–12 attorneys. The Litigation Paralegal will be responsible for preparing and reviewing legal documents, conducting legal research, and assisting with the preparation of pleadings and motions. Additionally, the role involves maintaining case files, coordinating with attorneys, and providing support throughout various stages of the litigation process. We handle trademark, internet, and copyright litigation—primarily in federal court, as well as defamation cases in state and federal court. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, steady under pressure, and confident interfacing with clients and court systems.
Responsibilities May Include
● Preparing and filing court documents (e-filing, PACER uploads)
● Reviewing briefs, checking citations, and compiling exhibits
● Tracking litigation deadlines (Google Calendar)
● Managing incoming/outgoing correspondence and court filings and coordinating responses
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation and Document Review.
- Competency in conducting Legal Research and contributing to case strategy.
- Experience with preparing Pleadings and Motions.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
- Proficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certification required
- Prior experience in federal court litigation required.

Compensation
Compensation will be commensurate with experience, with an expected range of between $25-50 per hour.
