Our prominent Long Island defense law firm is seeking to grow both of our Islandia and NYC offices. For both offices, we are seeking litigation Associate Attorneys to handle general liability defense cases. Associate Attorney Candidates should possess 4-8 years experience in insurance defense.
For our Islandia office, we are seeking an estates, trusts attorney with 3-5 years experience and a junior commercial (transactional and litigation) attorney with 2-3 years experience.
Successful attorney applicants must be capable of independently handling full case load from inception to trial, have good verbal and written communication skills and experience conducting and defending depositions.
The duties and responsibilities of the Associate Attorney include, but are not limited to,
- managing a caseload
- assisting to cover the calendar of this busy litigation firm
- conducting depositions of all parties and non-parties
- meeting and working with clients
- producing clients for deposition
- meeting with experts
- draft pleadings, motions, and other discovery items
- handle all aspects of litigation and trial
The ideal Associate Attorney candidate will be hardworking, smart, personable and looking for autonomy and opportunity in a growing environment. Four to eight years of previous experience practicing personal injury is required (knowledge of medical practice law helpful, not required).
Strong research, writing and analytical skills, as well as a commitment to outstanding client service are a must. Candidates must be admitted to practice law in New York State and in good standing. Candidates admitted to the NYS federal courts are preferred.
