What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Teacher position at Lewis Elementary Montessori Academy?
Lewis Elementary is excited to announce the opening of our Public Montessori Magnet Program beginning in Fall 2026. As we launch this new program, we are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Montessori Teacher’s Assistant to join our growing team.
Our program will open with mixed-age VPK and Kindergarten classrooms and will continue to grow each year until it serves students in VPK through 5th grade. Rooted in the Montessori philosophy, this program will provide a child-centered learning environment where students are encouraged to explore, create, and learn at their own pace.
The ideal candidate is nurturing, dependable, collaborative, and passionate about supporting young children in a calm, engaging classroom setting.
Qualifications:
• Associate’s Degree (AA) or Bachelor’s Degree required
• Experience working with children in a school or educational setting preferred
• Appreciation for child-centered learning and Montessori philosophy
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Experience or certification in Montessori methods is a plus
