Lewis and Clark is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Part-Time In-House Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities
- Manage daily bookkeeping activities including data entry of journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable transactions.
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy across all financial records.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks to record and analyze financial data.
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements, in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Conduct account analysis and account reconciliation to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental accounting requirements as needed.
- Support budgeting processes by tracking expenses and providing detailed financial insights for decision-making.
Requirements
- Proven experience with bookkeeping, accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks) and general ledger management.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
- Knowledge of GAAP standards and experience with governmental or non-profit accounting is a plus.
- Ability to perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliation, and account analysis accurately.
- Familiarity with payroll processing, tax experience, and accounts payable/receivable management.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
