What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard position at Lewis and Clark Community College?
Scope of Position
Lifeguards with the College for Kids swim program are responsible for overseeing all activities in the pool and surrounding areas, enforcing safe practices and performing basic lifesaving skills if necessary.
Key Measurable Expectations (KMEs)
- Monitor all activity in and around the Hatheway pool area including the locker rooms, pool deck and pool.
- Enforce safety policies for all pool patrons.
- Perform basic first aid and CPR if necessary.
Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
- Ability to exercise good judgment in establishing and enforcing safe pool usage
- Ability to relate well with the public
- Dependable and reliable
- Team player and ability to work effectively with others
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- Must hold Lifeguard training certificate including current CPR and First Aid certifications
- Must successfully complete all pre-employment checks, including but not limited to drug testing and background check
- Availability to work evenings and Saturdays on as needed basis
- Schedule may vary. Example: Monday-Friday, 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.; Monday-Thursday, 6:00 a.m-7:00 a.m.; Saturday mornings and some evenings
Team Members can expect to be paid an hourly rate of $15.38.
