Job description:
We are looking for an energetic teaching assistant to join our team! You will be assisting the lead teacher with planning and implementing both whole classroom and small group instruction.
You are passionate about learning and love working with children. With strong creative and organizational skills, you are able to connect with individual students and develop strong relationships with faculty to create an engaging learning environment.
Lewinsville Montessori was first established over 30 years ago as a child development center that provided high quality early childhood education to meet the needs of working families in the greater metro area. Responsibilities:
- Follows comprehensive curriculum
- Reports to the lead teacher and will assist in establishing and maintaining a harmonious classroom
- Assist in establishing and maintaining Montessori classroom culture, paying particular attention to the needs of students
- Facilitate a respectful environment for children and adults
- Must communicate with parents
- Observes and keeps records of each student's individual progression
- Assist in careful monitor or classroom daily attendance
- Attend all staff meetings and trainings
- Participates in all school events and conferences
- Keeps student information confidential
Education Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Fluent in English is must.
Other Qualifications:
- 18 years of age or older
- Ability to pass a state and federal background check
- A year of previous teaching assistant experience preferred
- High-energy with a love of working with children
- Organized and detail-oriented
Schedule:
- 1 position for Monday through Friday 9:00am until 6:00pm. This schedule includes a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.
- 2 Positions for Monday through Friday 9:30am until 6:30pm. This schedule includes a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.
