Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research using various resources such as Westlaw, Lexis-Nexis, and other legal databases
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Organize and maintain case files and documents
- Interview clients and witnesses to gather relevant information for cases
- Assist with document review and analysis
- Prepare trial notebooks and exhibits for court proceedings
- Coordinate with external parties, such as court personnel and opposing counsel
- Provide general administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing correspondence
Skills:
- Proficient in file management and organization
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
- Familiarity with legal research tools such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interview clients and witnesses effectively
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficient in using computer software for word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations
