As a Per Diem Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care across various healthcare settings. What you’ll do
- Deliver compassionate and comprehensive nursing care to patients in diverse settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, and outpatient facilities.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, monitoring vital signs and documenting medical histories to ensure accurate medical records.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV infusion, injections, and wound care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health conditions, treatment options, and post-care instructions.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic and Cerner for efficient documentation and communication.
- Participate in triage processes, ensuring timely responses to patient needs in emergency situations.
- Uphold infection control standards and maintain a safe environment for all patients.
Basic qualifications
- Valid nursing license in the applicable state
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and nursing practices
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with critical care nursing or emergency medicine
- Familiarity with ICD-10 coding and NCQA standards
- Background in geriatrics or working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Proficiency in using EHR systems such as Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks
