As we continue to grow, we are seeking a technically skilled and customer-driven Application Engineer to support our expanding Life Sciences business.
Role Summary
In this role, you will work with the Levitronix Account Management team with world-wide leading Biotech customers. You’ll work directly with global biotech and pharma leaders—helping them adopt our technologies, troubleshooting complex systems, and feeding back insights that shape the future of our product portfolio.
This position combines hands-on technical work – design, assembling and configuring evaluation equipment, integrating hardware/software, and supporting customer trials—with close collaboration across sales, engineering, and R&D. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Customer Application Support
- Provide technical support for customer evaluations, both on-site and in Levitronix labs.
- Collaborate with sales to deliver high-impact technical & commercial engagements.
- Design, assemble and configure evaluation systems—including pumps, mixers, sensors, and software—to align with customer processes and scale-up needs.
- Build and integrate custom electrical/software components to connect and control hardware.
2. Troubleshooting & Technical Expertise
- Provide rapid and expert troubleshooting analysis for customer systems.
- Configure, test, and maintain software tools used in evaluation and application support.
- Perform repairs, adjustments, and modifications on evaluation units and customer-installed systems.
- Support with customers to integrate Levitronix products into their process control systems.
- Enable adoption of new products by resolving early-use application challenges.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor for process engineers and scientists at top-tier biopharma companies and provide Training to customers.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with internal teams (Sales, Account Management, Engineering) to ensure smooth execution of customer projects.
- Develop application notes, training, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the global Life Sciences team.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s (or Master’s) degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related discipline.
- Hands-on experience in applications engineering, automation, process development, or technical support
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work hands-on with complex hardware/software systems.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable engaging process scientists, engineers, and commercial stakeholders.
- Willingness for extensive overnight travel in the United States and occasionally overseas (up to about 50%).
- Requires on-site presence at our Framingham, MA office.
