About The Role
The Sr. Global Commodity Manager (GCM) leads the financial and operational performance of assigned raw material categories, with accountability for supplier selection and results across cost, quality, and delivery. This role develops and executes a global commodity strategy in partnership with business unit stakeholders to support operational goals and ensure alignment on supplier partnerships.
Operating with a high level of independence and guidance from sourcing and business leadership, the Sr. GCM serves as a subject matter expert, mentors team members, and regularly engages with senior leadership.

New York: $130,000–$150,000 - Illinois: $120,000–$140,000 - North Carolina: $120,000–$130,000 - Mexico: $125,000-$135,000

About The Role

Responsibilities
- Supplier and Quality Management
- Ensure Leviton quality standards are consistently met across all suppliers
- Establish and maintain robust quality programs with key suppliers
- Drive rapid resolution of quality issues, including implementation of corrective actions
- Strategic Sourcing and Cost Management
- Lead supplier negotiations to deliver competitive, value driven solutions
- Achieve annual cost reduction targets and identify ongoing savings opportunities
- Analyze market trends and raw material dynamics to inform sourcing strategies
- Familiarity with industry standards with Supply Chain
- Commodity Strategy Development & Execution
- Good understanding of the raw material market
- Develop and execute global commodity strategies aligned with business objectives
- Interpret data trends into actionable plans to improve cost, quality and supplier performance
- Communicate strategy and results effectively to senior leadership and cross-functional teams
- Supplier Relationship and Performance Management
- Manage complex global supplier relationships and conduct regular business performance reviews
- Lead cost-out sessions and continuous improvement efforts with suppliers
- Identify and eliminate non-value-added activities across the supply base
- Contracting and Compliance
- Understand business and international law with ability to negotiate and execute domestic and international supplier agreements
- Partner with legal on creating terms and conditions, including a working knowledge of intellectual property, indemnification, and liability
- Maintain global awareness of international companies and their countries' business practices and regulatory considerations
- Leadership and Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Understands department and individual goals and initiatives
- Manage cross-functional and global initiatives and global project
- Mentor and develop less experienced buyers
- Support achievement of departmental and individual goals and initiatives
- Operational and Financial Excellence
- Able to train others on a broad range of purchasing concepts and procedures, including Should Cost and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models
- Understands the global market conditions and their impact on spending
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams), including advanced analytical and presentation skills
- Demonstrated expertise in analysis, finance, and supply chain management concepts
- Experience utilizing electronic collaboration and communication tools
- Creative, resourceful problem solver with the ability to think independently and develop practical solutions
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Must exercise good judgment in decision-making, with ability to appropriately escalate complex sourcing and pricing decisions
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization and with external partners
- Ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and represent the organization with professionalism
- Proven ability to analyze data, resolve issues, and develop insights to support business decisions and management reporting
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or related field; CPIM, CPSM, or CPM certification preferred
- MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of work experience, including at least 5 years in strategic sourcing or commodity management
- Proven track record of driving sourcing strategy, operational performance, and cost optimization initiatives in a global environment
- Demonstrated leadership experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders and delivering measurable results
- Ability to travel up to 30%, including domestic and international travel to supplier locations and Leviton facilities
- Experience traveling internationally and building strong supplier relationships across global markets
