Salary Range: $63,098 - $75,000

Overview:
This position is responsible for timely procurement of a broad range of items (domestic and foreign) necessary to support Company requirements for both new product and sustaining production in an efficient, cost effective manner while maintaining quality standards at all times. Responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels throughout product life cycle. This position works under moderate supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain established line fill rates and target inventory levels for items as assigned
- Negotiates with suppliers on cost reductions, lead time reductions, and overall improvements in quality
- Procure materials needed throughout product life cycle
- Prepare requests for quotations (RFQs/RFPs), analyze supplier responses, negotiate pricing and confirm purchase orders within budgetary limitations and scope of authority
- Collaborate with strategic sourcing in identifying new sources of supply for finished goods, raw materials and components
- Partner with cross functional team members in support of new product development & launches, material planning, order management and revenue planning
- Implement contingency plans with Production Planning and Manufacturing when inventory availability commitments are at risk and initiate work-around activities
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Strategic Sourcing and Engineering teams to audit and approve suppliers
- Continually improve supplier performance to ensure optimum value for Leviton and its customers
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum 3 years' experience managing suppliers and vendors
- Certification in e.g. APICS, ISM or LEAN is a plus
Skills & Abilities
- AS400 knowledge preferred
- Oracle 12 ASCP knowledge preferred
- Solid understanding of MRP system logic
- Lean manufacturing knowledge preferred
- Experience in multi-functional and new product teams preferred
- Experience in a KANBAN or VMI environment preferred
- Experience working in manufacturing environment
- Experience presenting information to members of leadership team both within and outside of Operations (e.g. General Manager/Executive VP, VP of Engineering, etc.)
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience working on cross functional teams
Travel
- Up to 15%
