What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development & Licensing Advisor position at Leveragen?
Leveragen is seeking an Independent Business Development & Licensing Advisor
Pharma/Biotech Partnerships | Freelance | Remote | Commission Only
Are you a former pharma/biotech VP of Business Development, CBO, CSO, or CEO with strong industry relationships and a track record of building partnerships?
Leveragen is a Boston-area biotechnology platform company advancing next-generation antibody discovery through proprietary genetically engineered mouse platforms. Our flagship Singularity Sapiens Mouse is a third-generation platform for fully human single-domain antibody discovery, generating compact, in vivo-matured VH binders with broad diversity and strong developability. Our platforms have been validated through collaborations and licensing relationships with a number of leading pharma and biotech companies. These collaborations span a wide range of next-generation therapeutic modalities—including multispecific antibodies, CAR therapies, ADCs, AOCs, RDCs, mRNA therapeutics, and LNP-based delivery.
We are seeking a seasoned executive to connect us with pharmaceutical and biotechnology partners for discovery collaborations, platform access, and licensing.
The role
Identify well-matched partners, facilitate warm introductions to relevant BD, licensing, search and evaluation, and R&D decision-makers, and help advance selected opportunities toward signed, revenue-generating agreements. Work directly with our CEO and scientific team on partner engagement and follow-up.
Qualifications
- Prior VP/SVP/EVP-level experience in pharma or established biotech BD, licensing, external innovation, or R&D, or service as CBO, CSO, or CEO.
- An active network of relevant pharma/biotech decision-makers—not simply a large contact list.
- A demonstrable record of originating or materially advancing completed licensing, discovery, or strategic collaboration transactions.
- Scientific and commercial fluency in antibody discovery or biologics, with the ability to match partner needs to platform capabilities.
- Availability to work independently and remain engaged beyond the initial introduction. A PhD, MD, or MBA is helpful but not required.
Engagement and compensation
This is a non-exclusive engagement, compensated solely through cash commissions/success fees on eligible revenue actually received by Leveragen from approved transactions attributable to the advisor’s agreed contribution.
No base salary, retainer, hourly fees, equity, stock options, or guaranteed compensation. Commission rates, eligible opportunities, and payment terms will be agreed in writing before work begins.
Conflicts and independence
Applicants must be free of conflicts with employment, board, consulting, advisory, and other obligations. Other engagements are permitted only where non-conflicting, with required permissions in place. No concurrent representation of a competing antibody discovery platform or the other side of a Leveragen transaction. This opportunity is particularly suited to former senior executives now working independently.
Interested candidates: Please message us with your LinkedIn profile or brief bio, relevant transaction experience, network focus, and confirmation that a commission-only engagement fits your objectives. Please do not share confidential information from other organizations.
