About the Role
This position supports a team of Loan Officers and works closely with multiple wholesale mortgage lenders. You will be a critical part of the loan process from file intake, pre-approval, income calculations and problem solving with a strong focus on accuracy, communication, and problem-solving.
If you’re confident calculating variable income and self-employed income, understand lender nuances, and can juggle multiple files without dropping the ball—this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Support multiple Loan Officers with active loan pipelines
- Perform full loan file intake and review for completeness and accuracy
- Calculate and analyze:
- Variable income
- Self-employed income (Schedule C, K-1s, 1065s, 1120s, 1120-S)
- Work efficiently with 40 wholesale lender portals, each with different guidelines and processes
- Communicate with borrowers, employers, CPAs, and third parties to obtain required documentation
- Submit, monitor, and manage files through underwriting and conditions
- Maintain clean, organized, and compliant loan files
- Keep communication proactive and clear between borrowers, loan officers, processors, and agents
What We’re Looking For
- Prior experience as a Loan Officer Assistant, Processor, or similar mortgage support role
- Strong understanding of:
- Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, Jumbo, and DSCR loan products
- Proven ability to calculate complex income scenarios
- Comfortable working with multiple lenders and constantly changing guidelines
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
- Confident and professional on the phone and in writing
- A quick learner who thrives in a high-volume, fast-moving environment
