POSITION SUMMARY

The Production Supervisor leads day-to-day operations at Leven's gluten-free production facility, owning the output, quality, and consistency of every product that leaves the building. This is a hands-on, floor-based role for someone who knows how to bake, communicates clearly, and can keep a team of up to 10 organized, accountable, and producing to spec. The Supervisor is responsible for the full production cycle — from ingredient purchasing and inventory control through baking, packing, shipping, and accurate order fulfillment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Production & Quality

  • Oversee daily production output across all product lines, ensuring recipes, portions, and finished goods consistently meet Leven's gluten-free quality standards.
  • Bake and work the line directly as needed — lead by example and step in to maintain output during peak periods or staffing gaps.
  • Monitor product quality at every stage and address defects, inconsistencies, or waste promptly.

Team Leadership

  • Effectively manage, schedule, and direct a production team of up to 10, keeping the team focused, engaged, and accountable to daily targets.
  • Hire, onboard, and train production staff; develop team members and build bench strength for future growth.
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and collaborative work environment aligned with Leven's ALIVE values (Accountability, Love, Integrity, Vulnerability, Engagement).

Inventory & Procurement

  • Maintain accurate inventory tracking for both production output and ingredient stock, flagging shortages and reconciling counts regularly.
  • Own ingredient purchasing — order the right quantities at the right time to avoid stockouts and minimize waste and spoilage.
  • Enforce inventory control procedures, including proper storage, rotation (FIFO), and documentation of usage.

Order Fulfillment & Shipping

  • Ensure accuracy on all order fulfillment — that every order is picked, packed, and shipped correctly, completely, and on time.
  • Coordinate packing and shipping workflows to meet delivery commitments for retail, wholesale (B2B), and e-commerce channels.
  • Keep the production floor and workflows highly organized so orders move efficiently from bake to shipment.

Sanitation & Facility Upkeep

  • Maintain a clean, sanitary production environment at all times, enforcing food safety and sanitation standards across the facility.
  • Keep the facility and all production equipment clean, well-maintained, and in good working order; schedule and track routine cleaning and preventive maintenance.
  • Ensure the team follows proper sanitation protocols, including gluten-free cross-contamination controls, and correct any lapses promptly.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Food Manager Handler Certification (required).
  • Hands-on baking experience — able to bake, evaluate quality, and train others on recipes and technique.
  • Proven experience supervising or leading a team, ideally in a production, bakery, kitchen, or food-manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication skills; able to give clear direction, coordinate across shifts, and escalate issues effectively.
  • Demonstrated organization and attention to detail across inventory, purchasing, and order accuracy.
  • Comfortable working an average of ~50 hours per week, including early mornings and peak production periods.
  • Familiarity with inventory tracking and ordering systems; able to maintain accurate records.

PREFERRED

  • Experience in a gluten-free, allergen-conscious, or specialty-diet production facility.
  • Experience managing procurement and vendor relationships.
