What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cultivation Technician position at Levels Cannabis?
Position Overview:
As a Cultivation Technician at Levels, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and vitality of our cannabis crops. You will be responsible for many different duties that require upmost attention to detail involving plant maintenance, facility cleanliness, and facility maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Propagation: cutting clones, wiping domes, watering and collecting data.
- Integrated Pest Management: applying pesticides through sprays and drenches, applying beneficial insects, and monitoring plant health and pest pressure daily
- Plant Maintenance: performing pruning and defoliation tasks for vegetative plants, flowering plants, and mother plants.
- Canopy Management: Trellising Flower and Mother rooms to ensure plants stay uniform and consistent.
- Irrigation: installing new irrigation poly and pvc lines, maintaining and cleaning dosatrons and batch tanks, mixing and validating stock tanks, collecting runoff and inputing the data, and calibrating pH and EC probes.
- Data Validation: Using grow systems such as Trolmaster and Aroya to collect data and implement new strategies to crop steer flowering and vegetative plants.
- Post Harvest: Harvest mature flowering plants bi-weekly, bucking, operating the trim machine, cleaning and sanitizing and resetting post-harvest and flower rooms
- Integrated Pest Management: applying pesticides through sprays and drenches, applying beneficial insects, and monitoring plant health and pest pressure daily
- Daily Cleaning: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and scrubbing tables, pressure washing tables, veg rooms and the facility.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the facility manager and cultivation team to optimize growing conditions and reduce pest pressure through environmental control, plant maintenance, and proper sanitization practices.
- Facility Maintenance: installing tables, hanging LED lights, low voltage wiring, installing cat6 and RJ-12.
- Metrc Compliance: creating plant tags, packages, testing and manifests.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience indoor/outdoor cannabis cultivation setting or similar horticultural environment is required.
- Knowledge: Plant anatomy, crop steering, genetics, propagation, pest identification, HVAC, plumbing.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, adapting and overcoming challenges.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing, kneeling, bending over, working in greenhouse conditions (high temperature and high humidity), pulling and pushing equipment, working from heights, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
