Job Summary
The Cannabis Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate, compliant inventory records for all finished cannabis products. This role ensures that all movements, adjustments, packaging, and sales of final product are properly recorded in both internal systems and METRC (the state’s cannabis tracking system). The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compliance-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and integrity are essential.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records for all final cannabis products
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly inventory audits to ensure data in METRC matches physical stock.
- Accurately record product packaging, labeling, and transfer activities in METRC.
- Create, adjust, and reconcile METRC tags for all finished goods.
- Coordinate product movements between production, packaging, and distribution departments.
- Support compliance by ensuring all product labeling, weights, and tracking information meet state regulations.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly, escalating issues to management as needed.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for audits, compliance inspections, and internal reports.
- Assist with order fulfillment, manifest creation, and product verification prior to shipment.
- Follow all company SOPs and state regulations to maintain compliance and product integrity.
- Manage inventory control processes to ensure accurate tracking of all cultivation materials and products.
- Assist with harvesting plant material
- Assist with quality control and inspecting final product
- Assist with developing and implementing processes to maximize quality and efficiency
- Assist with any facility needs (harvesting, room reset, facility organization and cleanliness, transplanting, clone care, pruning, trellising, etc.)
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in cannabis inventory, compliance, or operations.
- Proficiency with METRC or other seed-to-sale tracking systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a highly regulated environment.
- Basic math and computer skills (Google Sheets, Excel, or similar).
- Must be 21 and able to pass background screening as required by state law.
Preferred:
- Experience handling final packaged product in a licensed facility.
- Familiarity with state cannabis compliance regulations.
- Prior work in manufacturing, warehousing, or regulated product tracking.
