Duties
- Design and implement comprehensive tap dance curricula tailored to different age groups and skill levels, incorporating elements of rhythm, technique, and performance skills.
- Lead energetic and motivating tap dance classes, ensuring participants stay engaged and progress in their abilities.
- Manage classroom dynamics effectively by applying behavior management strategies and creating an inclusive, supportive atmosphere for all learners.
- Provide personalized tutoring and feedback to help students improve their technique, timing, and overall performance.
- Incorporate diverse teaching methods such as lesson planning, choreography development, and multimedia tools like photography to enhance learning experiences.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development projects that integrate theater arts, childhood development principles, or early childhood education concepts.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to classroom management best practices and ensuring proper use of dance equipment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in teaching tap dance or related dance styles such as ballet or theater arts within classroom settings.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques.
- Experience working with children, preschoolers, or adult learners in educational or recreational settings.
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies and childhood development principles to support diverse student needs.
- Ability to demonstrate tap dancing skills confidently while inspiring students through energetic instruction.
- Background in theater arts or performing arts education is highly desirable.
- Skills in photography or multimedia presentation are a plus for creating engaging instructional content.
- Additional experience in culinary arts, sewing, childcare, special education, or early childhood education is beneficial but not required.
