Brickbox Development is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Project Engineer to support construction, maintenance, and capital improvement projects across our commercial portfolio.
You'll work closely with ownership, property managers, construction managers, contractors, and consultants to keep projects technically sound, compliant, and on schedule. The ideal candidate has experience in project engineering, construction management, or construction administration, understands construction means and methods, and thrives managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Manage project documentation, contracts, proposals, permits, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Review contractor submittals and shop drawings for conformance with project specifications and design intent
- Coordinate communication between different departments, contractors, vendors, consultants, and design teams
- Track project schedules, inspections, deadlines, and project milestones, flagging potential delays or conflicts
- Obtain, organize, and technically evaluate bids and proposals from contractors and vendors
- Process invoices, purchase orders, and project-related documentation
- Maintain insurance certificates, licenses, permits, and compliance records
- Schedule project meetings and prepare reports, progress updates, and meeting notes
- Monitor ongoing maintenance, repair, and capital improvement projects, including field observation of work in progress
- Support ownership, property managers, and construction managers with technical and project-related tasks
- Maintain organized project files and ensure all documentation, drawings, and specifications are accurate and up to date
- Assist with vendor onboarding and contract management
- Help identify opportunities to improve project efficiency, quality control, and administrative processes
- Assist with payment application review, quantity verification, and draw compliance
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a project engineer, in construction management, project coordination, or a related field
- Working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and building systems
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with project management software (Procore or equivalent)
- Experience with QuickBooks and general financial acumen preferred
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work professionally with board members, contractors, and vendors
- Degree in Civil/Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
