Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and facilitate check-in processes using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Collect and record vital signs, perform basic clinical tasks such as phlebotomy and medication administration under supervision
- Assist healthcare providers with procedures including anatomy and physiology support, ICD coding, and medication management
- Manage patient records accurately, ensuring compliance with medical documentation standards and confidentiality protocols
- Schedule appointments, handle incoming calls, and coordinate patient flow efficiently to minimize wait times
- Support clinical staff with tasks related to hospital medicine, urgent care, dermatology, geriatrics, or inpatient care as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to safety standards such as Basic Life Support (BLS) protocols
Experience
- Prior experience working in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is highly preferred
- Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management is essential
- Experience with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and pharmacology enhances your effectiveness in this role
- Hands-on clinical skills such as phlebotomy, vital signs collection, medication administration, and basic patient care are desirable
- Hospital or Level I/II trauma center experience, including inpatient or OR experience, is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to manage medical records accurately and support medical assisting functions in fast-paced settings
