Job Title: Sales Coordinator
Status: Non-Exempt
Job Summary:
Assist in generating top line revenue through outside direct sales and by identifying, developing, and maintaining property sales and marketing objectives. Responsible for maximizing the occupancy and the average daily rate of the hotel. Accountable for Sales Department performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Achieve budget top line revenue goals
- Develop the Marketing Plan and Key Account Action Plans
- Cultivate lead sources through direct sales calls/appointments, cold calls, telemarketing, etc.
- Establish and maintain close contact with assigned accounts and target accounts
- Maintain well-documented, accurate, organized and up-to-date file management system in order to service the client and employer in the most expedient, organized and knowledgeable manner
- Develop strong customer relations through frequent communication, professional, courteous and ethical interpersonal interactions
- Develop customer profiles and maintains an effective trace system, including dates and references, in order to best meet client needs, resulting in superior account services and increased revenues
- Conduct research, surveys, personal investigation and studies marketplace and territory in order to effectively capitalize on the hotel’s strengths and competitor’s weaknesses and capabilities
- Controls departmental expenses on the property’s behalf in order to minimize hotel costs
- Maintains active involvement in the surrounding community and in the hospitality community
- Assists in ensuring that customers are 100% satisfied with their hotel experience
- Direct and lead department through hiring, training and setting goals
- Work with Sales Managers to achieve their goals
- Conduct weekly sales meetings
- Any and all job duties as assigned
Qualifications

Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of five to seven years of hospitality sales experience. Minimum of three years management experience.
Knowledge of local competition and general industry trends. Excellent leadership skills and strong revenue management skills. Must be innovative and self-motivated
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software;
Spreadsheet software; Payroll systems; Internet software; Project Management software; and Database software.
Other
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Must have a current driver’s license and use of a vehicle which is insured and maintained in good condition. Available to travel in and out of state.
