Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Accountant to manage the financial and accounting operations at our Loveland, Colorado headquarters. This crucial role involves overseeing financial systems, ensuring compliance, performing hands-on accounting and collaborating with leadership to improve financial performance across multiple entities. The ideal candidate will be analytical, self-directed, committed to process improvement and passionate about supporting our growing organization.
KKey Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Manage the full accounting cycle, including A/P, A/R, payroll, and general ledger.
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Coordinate with ownership and external CPA partners to ensure compliance and protect the financial wellbeing of the organization
- Maintain accurate records and ensure proper reporting for audits and tax filings.
- Be responsive to internal and external constituencies
- Collaborate with owners to manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting across multiple entities.
- Invoicing & Accounting in QB Enterprise
Compliance & Internal Controls
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Manage all tax-related filings with accuracy and timeliness (corporate, payroll, sales/use, 1099, etc.).
Leadership & Process Improvement
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, promoting accuracy, accountability, and growth.
- Enhance existing systems, policies, and workflows for greater efficiency.
- Track costs and identify opportunities to improve operational performance.
- Present timely financial insights to leadership for data-driven decision-making.
- Support new entity setup, banking, and intercompany coordination.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including whole-organization oversight (companies over $5M preferred).
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-entity accounting and reporting.
- Expert-level proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and Google Workspace (GSuite).
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High degree of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
