CIVIL PROJECT ENGINEER | LICENSED PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER

We are seeking a qualified Civil Project Engineer to join the Colorado Civil Team, while also operating independently within the Level collaborative model. The Denver region is humming and in need of a mid–senior level civil engineer capable of managing projects, client relationships, and technical execution with minimal oversight.
ROLE OVERVIEW
This is a 1099 contract role providing a full workload opportunity within the Denver Metro region (Colorado Springs to Fort Collins).
The Civil Project Engineer will:
- Execute civil engineering projects within the Colorado Civil Team
- Project Manage individual projects and client relationships independently
- Accept projects generated through Level’s marketing efforts
- network to build relationships for your own project referral pipeline
- Develop and maintain a personal referral-based project pipeline
Day-to-day work is remote, with local presence required for site visits, meetings, and municipal coordination.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform civil engineering design and analysis for:
- Land development
- Roadways, bridges, and trails
- Drainage and grading
- Water and wastewater systems
- Municipal and on-call projects
- Prepare design documents, technical reports, and calculations
- Coordinate with surveyors, geotechnical consultants, and internal teams
- Communicate directly with clients, municipalities, and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations
- Support quality control and project delivery schedules
Engineers/Architects who experience the highest success of their individual practice, contribute to business development through relationship-building and referrals over time.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 6 years of civil engineering experience with increasing responsibility
- Strong civil design background (land development and/or municipal)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Experience coordinating consultants and project partners
- Ability to manage projects independently and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Authorized to work in the United States (no sponsorship)
Preferred:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or on active licensure track
- Experience with stormwater management and grading design
- Familiarity with municipal permitting and review processes
- Prior experience working directly with clients and other stakeholders

COMPENSATION & STRUCTURE
- Contract role (1099)
- Uncapped earning potential
- Typical annual earnings range: $75,000 – $175,000 depending on workload and project volume
