POSITION SUMMARY
Work to increase productivity and streamline practices in field operations. Assist w/ managing
the field crew and schedule for the company, validate materials estimated for awarded
projects, process material submittals as required by the general contractor or owner of
awarded projects. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and great organizational
skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS .
Assist w/ project schedules, budgets and resource allocations to ensure cost efficiency and
timely delivery.
Possess the ability to schedule and manage field crews for production labor on each day of
business, including the following:
o Coordinate equipment
o Track project progress to ensure we can meet our commitment
o Respond to field crew questions and needs, communicate effectively
o Ensure crews have the paperwork they need and it is up to date
o Be aware of crew morale
o Prep field crew trailer loads as needed
Review the most recent set of construction documents for awarded projects and compare
those documents with the project estimate.
Make all necessary changes or adjustments in the estimated material list to make sure the
correct material is ordered and shipped to the job site, including identifying materials with
extended lead times.
Evaluate and select subcontractors based on qualifications, experience and cost-effectiveness
Stay up to date on material pricing and ensure materials are ordered in a cost-effective
manner
Manage construction project documentation, permits, drawings, and change orders.
Work with finance/ payables to verify purchases.
Issue material submittal documentation to the general contractor or owner of awarded
projects and receive approved submittal documentation prior to ordering materials.
Communicate with the general contractor’s project manager or owner’s representative on each
project to assure an open dialogue so the project is completed as intended.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and legal requirements, prioritizing a safe working
environment for all involved

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in being a field crew foreman or working knowledge of how a construction field
crew functions and operates while on a job site.
Advanced understanding on how to order the necessary construction materials or equipment
for a particular project and get the materials on site prior to the field crew arriving.
Advanced understanding of how the material supply industry works and the communication
skills necessary to effectively communicate with material supplier personnel.
Working understanding on how to communicate effectively with an architect, structural
engineer, general contractor’s project manager, or owner’s representative to achieve the scope
of work set before the company.
Able to lead the crew and set a good example, offer suggestions, advice and feedback.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education
o High school graduate or GED certificate holder.
Experience
o A minimum of at least five (5) years of experience in the day-to-day functions of a
residential and commercial construction field crew.
o A minimum of at least two (2) years of experience in how the construction material
supply industry functions and works.
Computer Skills
o Advanced ability to use a software based crew schedule calendar.
o Proficient use of email communication.
o Advanced ability to access and understand information on the internet (World Wide
Web) to research new material and information.
o Proficient use of Microsoft Word documents and Excel spreadsheets, and PDF
documents.
Physical Requirements
o This position does not require any special physical requirements outside of a normal
office environment
o This position requires the physical requirements to perform in a normal office
environment and includes a residential or commercial construction job site. The
physical requirements include, but are not limited to sitting, standing, walking,
squatting, kneeling, climbing, bending, lifting, reaching above shoulder height.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The normal work environment for this position is a conditioned office setting. The noise level
in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate in other situations.
The work environment for this position is also a residential or commercial construction site and
will not include a conditioned or climate-controlled work area. The environment includes
working in and being exposed to all facets of weather, including the following; sun, rain, cloud
- cover, wind, heat, humidity, cold, snow.
