About the Role:
The Senior Assistant Warehouse Manager supports and oversees daily receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations. This role serves as a key operational leader within the warehouse, managing people, processes, inventory flow, and system accuracy while acting as a delegate for the Warehouse Manager when needed.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Warehouse Management System (WMS), ensuring accurate transactions, system compliance, and process adherence
- Control and manage the pass-through of product to our other facilities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation
- Own the Amazon-to-consumer business, including inventory flow, fulfillment accuracy, coordination with internal teams, and performance monitoring
- Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by coordinating and enforcing operational and personnel policies and procedures
- Complete warehouse operational requirements by scheduling, assigning, and overseeing employees, and following up on work results
- Oversee warehouse staff performance through coaching, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
- Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling results with the data storage system
- Maintain the physical condition of the warehouse by planning and implementing layout improvements, inspecting equipment, issuing work orders for repair, and submitting requisitions for replacement
- Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by following and monitoring security procedures and protocols
- Comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by enforcing adherence and escalating compliance needs to warehouse leadership
- Contribute to overall team success by accomplishing related operational results as needed
- Proven work experience managing warehouse operations and inventory
- Expertise in warehouse procedures, best practices, and material handling processes
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage staff
- Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to safely handle materials using proper lifting techniques, pallet jacks, order pickers, and forklifts
- Continuous standing and lifting/lowering
- Intermittent walking, use of hands/wrists, and bending/twisting
- Occasional pushing, pulling, and crouching
- Must be able to carry 1–40 pounds
