Duties
- Safely operate a variety of forklifts to load and unload shipments / pallets.
- Use warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update stock records accurately
- Perform order picking to fulfill customer orders efficiently
- Conduct routine equipment repairs or report maintenance needs to ensure optimal operation of all heavy machinery
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders and preparing outgoing deliveries
- Support warehouse management by organizing materials handling activities to optimize space and workflow
- Maintain safety standards by adhering to OSHA regulations and best practices for heavy equipment operation
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment in a warehouse environment
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control and order processing
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs or troubleshoot issues
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to forklift operation and materials handling
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during loading or unloading tasks
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments
- Previous experience in shipping & receiving, order picking, or warehouse distribution is highly preferred
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
