What are the responsibilities and job description for the Designer position at LetterShop?
About LetterShop
LetterShop is a boutique branding agency weaving strategy and design into communication that captures attention and earns lasting connections. Most days, you’ll find us working shoulder-to-shoulder in our studio overlooking the Hudson River in Dobbs Ferry, where we are sketching ideas, crafting campaigns, and cheering each other on.
Our team specializes in branding for fintech and technology businesses. The majority of our clients are on retainer, and we act as their off-site design team. While we do have some seasonal projects, the majority of our work is with client partners with whom we have developed close relationships over the years. We create everything you can imagine a business would need to market its business, from brand strategy to websites to PowerPoint presentations. If the company requires it, we have the means to make it happen.
We’re a woman-led, tight-knit team of thinkers, makers, and doers and we’re looking for a senior leader to help shape the next chapter of our client experience. If you thrive in creative environments, love rolling up your sleeves with smart people, and find joy in shaping great work and great teams, you’ll feel at home here.
About the role
We’re looking for a Designer who lives and breathes branding: someone who finds joy in contributing to cohesive brand systems, sweats the details of typography, and looks forward to new challenges. Our clients look to us to help them uncover, shape, and express their brands from the inside out, so attention to detail is paramount. We take a service-first approach to our client relationships—listening deeply, collaborating openly, and building trust through design excellence.
Core responsibilities:
- Produce and update one-sheets, pitch decks, and long-format marketing assets with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Create, edit, and version videos, including developing new videos from scratch, aligned with brand guidelines.
- Conceptualize, design, and optimize social media content, with a strong understanding of effective reels, short-form storytelling, and platform-specific best practices.
- Collaborate closely with team members across creative, marketing, and production teams to bring concepts to life.
- Maintain and evolve brand consistency across all visual touchpoints.
- Prepare final artwork files for print and digital distribution, ensuring proper formatting, color profiles, and technical specifications.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute original ideas for campaigns, visuals, and content strategy.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Incorporate feedback from stakeholders constructively, making revisions efficiently and thoughtfully.
- Stay current with design, video, and social media trends to propose innovative approaches and fresh creative solutions.
- Organize and maintain design assets, templates, and file systems for easy team access and workflow efficiency.
What we are seeking:
- 1 years of experience in a creative agency, design studio, or comparable fast-paced creative environment.
- Strong command of typography, layout principles, and a passion for building and maintaining cohesive brand systems.
- A hands-on designer who enjoys diving into day-to-day production work and bringing ideas to life with craft and precision.
- Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale and collaborate effectively.
- A proactive, flexible team member who thrives in an all-hands-on-deck environment and is comfortable wearing multiple hats.
- A sharp awareness of design, branding, and social media trends, paired with the ability to translate them into relevant creative solutions.
- Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented, with a commitment to accuracy in all deliverables.
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to manage multiple projects while maintaining high-quality output.
- An interest in understanding project budgets and contributing to efficient workflows that deliver strong value to clients.
- A collaborative mindset and a leadership style grounded in empathy, respect, and accountability, with the confidence to make informed decisions when needed.
- Experience working with fintech or technology brands is a plus.
- Proficiency in Figma for design, prototyping, and collaborative workflows.
- Advanced proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, After Effects).
- We strongly encourage applications from people of color; trans, nonbinary, and gender-expansive individuals; people with disabilities; and veterans.
