Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Meat Cutter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in food production, food preparation, and meat cutting, with a strong focus on food safety and quality. This role involves preparing, cutting, and packaging meat products to meet customer specifications while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety. The Meat Cutter will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the efficient operation of our meat department.
Responsibilities
- Cut, trim, and prepare various types of meat according to established specifications and safety standards
- Package meat products securely for retail sale or wholesale distribution
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work area and equipment in compliance with food safety regulations
- Assist customers with product selection and provide excellent customer service when needed
- Follow all food handling procedures to ensure quality and safety of products
- Operate knives, saws, and other cutting tools safely and efficiently
- Stock shelves and ensure proper rotation of meat products to minimize waste
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation policies within the workplace
Requirements
- Prior experience in food production, food preparation, or meat cutting is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling techniques
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in meat cutting techniques
- Experience with packaging and labeling food products
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality control
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Previous kitchen or restaurant experience is a plus but not required
- Good communication skills and ability to provide friendly customer service
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy loads as needed
