We are seeking a vibrant, organized, and technically proficient Dance Instructor to lead our "Tots to Primary" ballet program. This role is perfect for a dancer who loves the "magic" of early childhood and can translate formal ballet technique into engaging, age-appropriate lessons for children ages 3 to 7 years old.Key Responsibilities * Instruction: Lead weekly ballet classes focusing on foundational positions (1st through 5th position), posture, plies, tendes, and basic across-the-floor locomotive skills. * Curriculum Development: Write and implement weekly lesson plans that balance technical skill-building with creative movement and fitness games. * Choreography: Create and teach age-appropriate choreography for seasonal showcases or end-of-program performances. * Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, positive, and structured environment for groups of 8–12 young children, ensuring high engagement and fun. * Communication: Greet parents and provide brief, positive updates on student progress and developmental milestones.Required Qualifications & Skills * Dance Expertise: A strong background in Classical Ballet technique and terminology. * Experience with Children: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with children ages 3–7 (daycare, preschool, or dance studio setting). * Choreography Skills: Ability to create routines that are achievable yet challenging for young dancers. * Organization: Proven ability to create written lesson plans and track student attendance/progress. * Availability: Must be available to teach afternoon and evening shifts (Monday through Friday).Preferred Attributes * A "theatrical" teaching style (using imagery and storytelling to teach movement). * Knowledge of anatomy and basic motor skill development in early childhood. * Current CPR/First Aid Certification.Why Join Our Team? * Competitive hourly rates. * All teaching props (scarves, ribbons, spots) and sound systems provided. * A supportive, creative environment where you have the freedom to influence the curriculum.How to ApplyPlease submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your dance background and your favorite "game" or "trick" for keeping 4-year-olds focused in a dance class to: lioidanceco@gmail.com
