Perform routine food service activities related to food preparation, serving, and cleanup in a school cafeteria.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Prepares and cooks food service items
- Assists in serving meals
- Assists in setting up and stocking food preparation and service lines
- Performs cleanup duties as directed
- Maintains strict standards of sanitation keeping the kitchen safe and in a clean and orderly condition
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Excellent multitasking ability to assist other kitchen staff positions
- Familiarity with common kitchen utensils and commercial equipment
- Knowledge of best practices for kitchen safety and sanitation
- Basic kitchen skills, such as experience chopping, dicing, frying, following a recipe and measuring ingredients accurately
- Ability to lift, carry, push and pull heavy containers of food and materials up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to interact positively within the school district and community
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Student contact days according to the District School Calendar
- 4-hour shift
