Church Accompanist – Part-Time
Location: Oneonta, Alabama
Church: Lester Memorial Church
Lester Memorial Church, a Global Methodist Church congregation in Oneonta, Alabama, is seeking a part-time Church Accompanist to support our traditional worship service and music ministry.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys serving in a church setting and has experience accompanying congregational singing, choirs, and special music. The church is equipped with both a piano and an organ. Experience accompanying traditional worship music is preferred.
Schedule:
- Approximately 3–5 hours per week
- Sunday traditional worship service (typically 1 hour)
- Wednesday evening rehearsal/practice (typically 1 hour)
- Additional time may occasionally be needed during special seasons such as Easter and Christmas
Responsibilities:
- Provide musical accompaniment during the Sunday traditional worship service
- Attend and accompany Wednesday evening rehearsals
- Collaborate with church leadership and music ministry volunteers
- Support special services and events throughout the year as needed
Qualifications:
- Ability to play piano and/or organ proficiently
- Experience accompanying vocalists, choirs, or congregational singing preferred
- Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working in a church environment
- Positive attitude and a heart for serving through music
