Position Overview
Lester Glenn Auto Group, the industry leader in automotive sales and service in New Jersey, has an immediate opening for a driven, detail-oriented, and professional I.T. Support Representative to join our centralized IT Team in Toms River, NJ.
This role balances technical help desk support, user administration, and physical field tech operations. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who can manage network infrastructure, maintain precise inventory documentation, and provide high-level customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- User Administration: Execute new employee IT onboarding procedures; configure, monitor, and maintain active user access requirements and permissions.
- Asset & Inventory Management: Oversee the distribution of IT assets and maintain meticulous documentation of hardware and software inventory.
- Technical Documentation: Author, update, and maintain comprehensive standard operating procedures (SOPs) regarding IT processes, setups, and system configurations.
- Help Desk Operations: Triage, prioritize, and resolve incoming support requests utilizing internal ticketing software, ensuring minimal operational downtime.
- Vendor Coordination: Liaise directly with third-party software support representatives (e.g., Reynolds & Reynolds, Hyundai Dealer, Global Connect) to resolve specialized application errors.
- Infrastructure Support: Partner with senior IT staff to troubleshoot complex network configurations, deploy system upgrades, and evaluate new software enhancements.
- Field Installations: Assist with physical technology deployments, including installing network access points and audio speakers.
- Data Security: Protect organizational integrity by handling sensitive credentials, data, and documentation with strict confidentiality.
Job Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (Required).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience; experience working in a fast-paced, high-demand technical environment is preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong foundational understanding of desktop environments, common operating systems (Windows/macOS), computer hardware, and basic software applications.
- Certifications: Industry-relevant certifications (CompTIA A , Network , Cisco CCNA) are highly preferred.
- Physical & Field Capabilities:
- Must possess basic IT field tech hand and power tools (e.g., Drill, Impact Driver) or be willing to acquire them within the first few months (partial list and select tools provided by employer).
- Must be willing to undergo employer-sponsored Fork Lift and Aero Lift Certification training for physical equipment installations.
- Logistics & Schedule:
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to occasionally utilize a personal vehicle for multi-site support (limited use; shared company IT vehicles are available).
- Ability to work a flexible, rotating schedule, including a minimum of two Saturdays per month and select holidays.
