Private Music Teacher (In-Home Lessons)

Flexible Schedule | Weekly Pay | You Choose Your Radius

Lessons In Your Home (LIYH) is operated by experienced music educators and built around one mission: curating successful, long-term teaching relationships between teachers, students, and families.

No exclusivity required — you can keep all your current students and build your schedule your way. Teachers maintain full control over their travel radius, weekly availability, and preferred teaching methods.

We are seeking degreed and professional musicians for part-time or full-time teaching positions.

About the Role

LIYH teachers provide Traditional Music Lessons using standard notation, positive reinforcement, and clear, goal-oriented lesson plans. Most students are beginners/intermediate players, especially ages 5–15.

If you want to build your teaching practice — or supplement your studio with dedicated, long-term students — this position is an excellent fit.

What You’ll Do

  • Teach private, in-home lessons
  • Use standard notation as the foundation of instruction
  • Support weekly progress through structured, encouraging teaching
  • Build musical identity through evolving, level-appropriate repertoire
  • Prepare students for annual recitals

What We’re Looking For

  • Professional mentorship (new & experienced teachers)
  • Supportive admin team ready to help you succeed
  • Consistent weekly pay via direct deposit
  • Teach with the methods you love
  • No exclusivity required — keep all your current students
  • Reliable, ongoing student placements
  • Networking with fellow teachers
  • Custom logistical tools for easy, accurate scheduling

…and more!

  • Experienced instructors with open days to fill
  • Professional musicians new to the area who need a student base
  • Degreed musicians working in other fields who want to stay active
  • Retired music educators ready to build a teaching studio again
