What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Counsel position at LESSO?
LESSO Group is a leading large-scale industrial group listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. We have been expanding globally with footprints in countries including Australia, Canada, United States, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Philippines, Vietnam, Dubai and Africa. We are hiring a US qualified legal counsel to support our operations in the United States and other North America regions.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support the Group and its affiliated company’s business (including but not limited to merger & acquisition, joint venture, property development, manufacturing and sales, leasing, construction, Intellectual Property, employment and visa, company incorporation, trading and general commercial matters)
- Analyze and identify legal risks and implications
- Draft, review and negotiate full-range of commercial contracts and legal documents
- Handle employment related disputes
- Liaise with external government departments, legal counsel, and/or specialists
- Handle ad hoc assignments, including administration duties
- Keep senior management abreast of all new laws and regulations that may have implications to the Group and its affiliated company
- Report to overseas General Counsel
Requirements
- Qualified to practice law in any state of the United States with not less than 3 – 5 years of post-qualification experience gained from a reputable law firm or in-house legal department
- Work experience with manufacturing business and/or property developers is a plus
- Work experience with licensing matters regarding operation of factories and warehouses is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal skills required to serve as a point of contact internally and externally
- Strong and commercial awareness are required
- Hands-on experience in reviewing and drafting of various contracts with minimal supervision
- Business proficiency in English and Chinese is a must.
