Position: Food Expoditer
Location: Post Office Cafe (Babylon, NY)
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Food Runner to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our restaurant, providing excellent customer service and supporting the kitchen and front-of-house teams. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your culinary skills and gain valuable experience in the hospitality industry.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Deliver food and beverages to customers in a timely and courteous manner.
- Assist with food preparation, including plating and garnishing dishes.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and dining area.
- Take orders and operate the Aloha POS system.
- Provide exceptional guest services, including answering questions and addressing concerns.
- Help with bussing tables and clearing the dining area.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure dishes are delivered promptly.
- Upsell and make recommendations to guests to enhance their dining experience.
- Assist with food service, including expediting and plating food.
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of our menu and ingredients.
- Maintain a positive and friendly attitude, providing a welcoming environment for guests.
- Follow all food safety and health and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a restaurant or food service environment.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.
- Excellent customer service skills and a passion for hospitality.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with the Aloha POS system.
- Physical stamina to lift and carry trays and equipment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to help with food preparation and kitchen duties as needed.
- A positive and friendly demeanor, with a focus on providing exceptional guest services.
