Position: Food Service Sandwich/Deli Worker
Location: Mineola, NY
Shift Information: Monday-Friday, 8AM-4PM
*This is a seasonal position following a school calendar (September-June, no weekends or holidays)
We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Food Service Worker for one of our school’s cafeterias. This candidate will be part of a great team that is always looking to improve the students lunch experience. Applicants must enjoy working in a school setting and provide a positive and uplifting meal experience.
This position is for the sandwich station, applicants must be able to and willing to use a slicer. Past Deli experience is a PLUS!
Some Job Duties and Responsibilities will include:
- Utilizing commercial kitchen equipment in the preparation of menu items.
- Monitoring food at serving areas for fresh appearance and proper holding temperatures.
- Assist with unpacking deliveries
- Assisting in serving food on the service line, cashiering, cooking, and cleaning.
- Cleaning and maintaining the food service area and equipment before, during and after service.
Qualifications:
- Previous food service experience is strongly preferred.
- Must be a team player with a positive and upbeat attitude.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Ability to bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Must feel comfortable standing for long periods of time.
- Must possess a High School diploma or GED.
- Must have reliable transportation.
