About the Role
The New Business Development Manager for industrial flat spring products is responsible for profitably growing Lesjöfors Spring America’s market share through application-driven business development and deep technical engagement with customers across the value chain. This role will serve as a technical and commercial bridge between customers, R&D, marketing, and sales. This role translates customer designs, materials, and process expertise into differentiated solutions that drive customer preference, expand the market, and support long-term growth in flat spring applications. The position engages direct and indirect customers in the value chain, promoting LSA’s custom-engineered product solutions to drive profitable growth. The Business Development Engineer offers technical expertise to customers, conducts business meetings, organizes workshops, and manages projects and orders. The Business Development Engineer identifies new and existing business opportunities within targeted segments and finds new application areas to expand our footprint.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic account and segment plans based on application mapping, existing product knowledge, and customer process understanding.
- Identify, quantify, and prioritize volume, revenue, margin, and lifecycle value opportunities across existing and new customers.
- Lead opportunity development from early technical engagement through commercial execution.
- Convert new prospects and applications into long-term customers through technical credibility and consultative selling.
- Advise customers by providing technical solutions for material selection and design considerations.
- Conduct technical meetings, workshops, and plant visits with engineers, procurement, and operations teams.
- Lead internal product and process engineers to develop solutions that meet customer expectations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a business administration-related field or 5-7 years of technical sales experience.
Required Skills
- Strong technical background in mechanical industrial products.
- Domestic and International travel up to 50%.
- Strong strategic mindset with the ability to translate strategy to action.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively navigate complex company structures and engage stakeholders at different levels.
- Strong computer skills. Working knowledge of ERP systems, Solidworks/CAD is a plus.
- Excellent English skills are essential.
