We are looking for an Electrical & Mechanical Lead to join our Deming, NM location.
Position Summary
Lead and coordinate electrical and mechanical maintenance across winery production, bottling, and facility operations. Serve as the primary technical resource for troubleshooting electrical systems, PLC/controls, and mechanical equipment while acting as a hands-on leader. Drive preventive maintenance, team development, and continuous improvement to maximize equipment reliability, uptime, and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities:Leadership & Coordination
- Plan, prioritize, and coordinate daily maintenance activities and projects.
- Serve as a working lead, providing handson support while guiding team performance.
- Train and develop maintenance staff across electrical, mechanical, and controls disciplines.
- Partner with production and leadership to ensure timely issue resolution and followup.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, efficiency, and uptime.
- Ensure projects and repairs are completed on time and within budget.
- Troubleshoot and maintain electrical systems, including motor controls, VFDs, instrumentation, and power distribution.
- Program and support PLC systems (AllenBradley, Siemens, or similar) and HMI/SCADA interfaces.
- Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and ladder logic.
- Install, configure, and commission new equipment and control systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance and support industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.).
- Perform and support repairs on production, bottling, and facility equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Weld and fabricate components as needed (MIG/TIG preferred).
- Inspect equipment, identify wear, and recommend upgrades to improve performance.
- Test and validate repairs to ensure proper operation.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, food safety, and regulatory standards (GMP, FSMA, etc.).
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation in CMMS.
- Manage parts inventory and anticipate maintenance needs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- 5 years of industrial maintenance experience (electrical and mechanical).
- Strong troubleshooting skills with threephase electrical systems, motor controls, and VFDs.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting (programming a plus).
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Basic welding experience.
- Strong problemsolving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fastpaced environment.
- Commitment to safety practices (LOTO, arc flash, etc.).
- High school diploma or equivalent; valid New Mexico driver’s license.
- PLC programming experience (AllenBradley, Siemens).
- Experience with HMI/SCADA systems and industrial networking.
- Background in winery, beverage, or food manufacturing.
- Bottling or canning line experience.
- Prior leadership or lead maintenance experience.
- Relevant certifications (electrical, welding, forklift, CDL).
- Spanish language skills.
- Industrial setting with exposure to cold, wet, noisy, and slippery conditions.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
