POSITION SUMMARY:
The accountant performs month-end, quarterly and year-end financial close duties primarily related to inventory and gross profit including account reconciliations, advanced journal entries, account analysis and reporting. They will also participate in and support other team members across the accounting department as needed for gross profit related projects, software and process implementations, new store acquisitions and other accounting projects as assigned. The Accountant may be required to help train staff and attend key stakeholder meetings supporting implementation of new POS system.

25% Record Financial Transactions: Record journal entries and other transactions in the GL as required
25% Account Reconciliations: Build, reconcile, review, document and resolve discrepancies between the general ledger and subledgers
20% Financial Reporting: Review and analyze financial statements for accuracy and reasonableness. Prepare and distribute monthly, quarterly and annual accounting reports as scheduled. Prepare reports detailing financial variances, trends and modeling (what-if analysis) as requested by management. Assist with year-end and interim audit preparation and requests.
20% - Software Initiatives: Support ongoing technology initiatives through design, testing, and implementation
10% - Other: Special projects and support for other Accounting Department needs
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Educational/Experience Requirements:
Primarily desk position; regularly required to sit, occasionally required to stand and walk. Requires frequent and repetitive use of hands and fingers to operate computer, mouse, keyboard, and office related equipment and the ability to reach with hands and arms. Position requires lifting no more than 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close visual acuity and the ability to adjust focus. Requires the ability to communicate verbally and exchange information over the phone and in person.

Office, non-manual work; the worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Educational/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or 5 years of corporate accounting experience, including financial close, reconciliations, analysis and reporting.
- Primary skills and tools: Advanced PC skills including Word, Excel, Google Suite, Netsuite or working knowledge of similar general ledger and ERP systems.
- Secondary systems: WorkDay, Solution 7
- Ability to identify procedural and internal control weaknesses and provide suggestions and guidance for improvement.
- Adaptability: Must possess the time management and organizational skills necessary to work quickly and effectively under pressure with the flexibility to perform in an ever-changing work environment, concentrating on several areas of work at one time.
